Bangkok 2015 Review Part 2
Tuesday, May 26, 2015

Hey!

I'm back for Bangkok review part 2! Which will be the second day on my trip.

Right after we woke up and got ready we headed down to Pratunam Plaza which is located right next to Platinum Mall for breakfast. We had the famous A&W (back in 1990s when it was famous in Singapore). So we had 2 ice cream waffles, strawberry and chocolate flavour (not that interesting but it made us full) and 2 root beer floats each.

After breakfast, we went to the nearby Platinum Mall, which is ladies all time favourite past time! SHOPPING! In platinum mall, there's 4 level of shopping from women to men clothing. After some shopping we decide to go explore to another realm in Bangkok! We went to take their BTS to Siam. So if you are about to get lost here, have a look at their BTS Map (below).

Then we went to Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC) it's right next to MBK Shopping centre. And you definitely have to visit Icedea.

YUMMY HUH! All made from Ice cream! Their creativity is perfect! We spent around 313 baht for these two dishes of ice cream and one banana ice cream. So after all this we went to MBK to have a look around. So if you're interested in electronics, head down there. But one advise do your research first.

We walked around the area and decide to stop by a supermarket. It was huge and huge I mean literally HUUUGEEE! By then it was dinner time we decided to have sashimi and it i swear the food at the gourmet supermarket was FRESH!

Took this photo cause I thought it was weird seeing a green and pink eggs!

After that we took the cab from Siam to Rod Fai train market which cost us 350 baht (SGD 15.20, bargained), they did not take meter when we requested for it as it was peak hour for them. Then we realised it was a scam as when we took the cab back to the hotel, which we requested for a metered cab, it cost us 163 baht (SGD 7.10). So we did our research to save more money the next time, you can take the BTS to On Nut Station and will take around 5 minutes on foot to reach Rod Fai Train Market.

Nothing much here to me. It was the same as any night market near by.

Thats all for DAY 2 of our BBK trip!

Stay tune for Bangkok 2015 Review Part 3 for Day 3!

See ya!

Bangkok 2015 Review part 1
Thursday, May 7, 2015

Hi!

This time I will be blogging about my countless trip to Bangkok (BKK). This trip was from 16 April to 20 April. I will be writing a review so that anyone who is reading this can actually head over to the places that I have been too.

So first up. I'm staying at a hotel in Pratunam. It's called Shibuya Glow Hotel you can check it out in Agoda for best price. I am not stating my price as Agoda has different pricing for different promotion and days. So basically the room is amazing. It is very spacious. And clean. There is also a small swimming pool and also a small gym, and they also have a sauna but do not use it as it does not smell that nice. It smells as though it has not been cleaned for years. But if you are the person who does not mind then go ahead.

From Don Mueang Airport (DMK) to Glow hotel it took roughly 20 to 30 minutes to reach and with a metered cab it's only 220 baht and there was not any traffic jam so if you are pretty unlucky then it would probably be slightly more. I do not have a photo of the room it self but I do have a video of it. Once I'm done with it I will upload it in here or my youtube page so that you have have a look at it. I'll update the post again (eventually).

More about the hotel it self, the staffs there were very friendly from the service counter staff to their bell boys to their room service. So one point to take note, be nice to them or you will not get a metered cab back to the airport.

So my friend and I went walking on the night market outside of Platinum Mall (yeah, we reached BKK around 8pm BKK time) And there were a lot of CHEAP things to buy depends on your preference (there's bags, passport holder, food and etc).

After walking for a while and we decided that we wanted to go to Chinatown (we wanted to go the previous time when we were in BKK but we time wasn't with us) to have our dinner. We flagged down a cab. A nice old man, kindly drove us there and told us to pick a group. There were the Red Chairs and the Green chairs, we actually did not have any idea what he was talking about it we reached Chinatown. Our fare was 65 baht ONLY! (Well some cabbies wanted to take us for 200 baht but my friend and I recommend that you take the once with meters. (Well it will save us quite a lot)

Once there, we were awed, it really looks like when we were in Hong Kong the previous time. So we decided to settled down with the Green Chairs Team as based on human instinct that the more people who seats at an area means that it might be popular. Let's have a look at what we ate!

All this was just a total of 510 baht which is SGD 22. CHEAP RIGHT? Well, they don't cheat you of your money as there are prices stated on their menu. So if you are a fan of seafood, you can buy as much as you want with no worries of being cheated. SO SEE WHAT I MEAN! And also not to forget that its spicy and very DELICIOUS!

I think this post it a little bit lengthy so, please look out for the next post on my Bangkok 2015 Review Part 2. Sometime next week!

See ya!
